Jose Padilla started his DJ career in 1987 (at the early age of 10), spinning records for his classmates in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
During 1990, he attends a summer session at Phillips Academy, a prestigious boarding school near Boston, Massachusetts, which hosts students from around the world, and DJ’s their weekend parties.
In 1995, Padilla lands triple DJ residencies at Club Ibiza, Club Red and Club Babylon, the most iconic nightclubs in the history of Puerto Rico, owned by 1 World Productions, which revolutionized the nightclub industry in the island. He continued work as guest DJ, between 1997-99, at some of Puerto Rico’s most important nightclubs, such as Egipto The Club, Martini’s, Asylum and Millennium, with weekly mix contributions to the “Mega Mix” radio mix show aired at “La Mega Station”.
Padilla has DJ’d parties for artists such as Ricky Martin and Shakira, and has shared the stage with world-renowned DJ’s such as Boy George, Danny Tenaglia, and Robbie Rivera.
In the U.S., his DJ residencies included Rockabilly’s (Macon, GA) and the Twisted Martini (Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL), and has showcased his talents at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, FL. Padilla is quite frankly one of the most influential DJ’s in Puerto Rico’s nightclub history.
